Doing different: making a better world throughout the Windows 11 PC ecosystem

Each April, on Earth Day, the world takes a moment to reflect on our natural environment, and evaluate our impact on that environment. Microsoft has committed to become carbon negative, water positive and zero waste company by 2030, all while protecting ecosystems.  Microsoft is focused on building a more sustainable future – a goal that is shared with Windows 11 PC partners. Microsoft and its device partners are addressing sustainability objectives through the design, use and end of life management of Windows devices. Microsoft has identified six specific ecosystem wide objectives to address with these partners: improved energy efficiency, sustainable packaging, increased recyclability and use of recycled materials, improved repairability, reduction in manufacturing carbon emissions, and finally, the promotion of sustainability standards and regulations that will help achieve these goals. https://youtu.be/nSQSbrEIvfM The Windows team continues to be deeply engaged with hardware and software partners across the Windows device ecosystem. They’re all working with governing bodies in multiple countries to continue the journey of making more sustainable improvements in coming releases. This includes making it easier for consumers to find trade-in, recycling and refurbishment programs such as the Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher (MAR) program. This program issued over 4.8 million Windows licenses to refurbished computers in 2021, a hazardous waste reduction equivalent to the weight of more than 55,000 refrigerators. Within Windows 11, there are more settings for power savings. Enabling all recommended energy-efficient settings, such as power, battery, screen brightness and dark mode – all which can be set from one panel – helps fill out the energy leaf meter that indicates how eco-friendly settings are. Power-efficient settings help extend your battery longevity by minimizing the amount of charging cycles it goes through. In addition to providing more energy efficient settings, Windows 11, when/where available*, can schedule software updates at specific times of day when lower carbon electricity options are powering the grid, resulting in lower carbon emissions. Default settings for sleep and screen shutoff have been updated to reduce energy consumption when your PC is idle. Microsoft’s hardware partners are thinking and doing in unconventional ways to accelerate innovation as they continue to demonstrate their commitment to the planet’s sustainability. Here are some examples: Woman looking down at meeting participants on video Teams callAvailable in both Intel and AMD models, the Acer TravelMate Spin P4  is an ultralight Microsoft Secured-core PC made from recycled materials to reduce harm to the earth. HoloLens 2 is the industrial metaverse technology that our customers use to deliver immersive experiences that enable real-time collaboration and empower frontline workers. As part of our strategic commitment to HoloLens 2 and mixed reality, Microsoft is pleased to announce that Windows 11 is coming to HoloLens 2 as a free upgrade in H1 of this calendar year.

Windows 11 enhances HoloLens 2 security and provides the latest tools for developers

Our newest operating system, Windows 11, is designed with security at its core. In rolling out Microsoft’s latest OS on HoloLens 2, our mixed reality community can feel confident when building and deploying end-to-end solutions. The free upgrade to Windows 11 promises continuous platform support, meaning our customers can trust in the continued security of their devices. With the upgrade, HoloLens 2 users will continue to receive monthly security servicing updates that reinforce the protection of sensitive information while also improving app performance. In addition, as part of the upgrade, we’re excited to share that the latest developer tools, like Microsoft Edge WebView2 control, will now be available in preview on HoloLens 2. This gives dev teams the ability to embed web technologies (including HTML, CSS and JavaScript) into their native applications. HoloLens 2 has been changing the way frontline workers collaborate, learn and work in industrial settings, from factories to service locations and supply chain warehouses. The platform provides a wide range of applications in the manufacturing, automotive and healthcare industries, resulting in an impressive return on investment (ROI) for customers. For example, businesses have experienced a 60% increase in training efficiency, a 75% reduction in annual travel expenses and higher productivity for field workers, leading to average savings of $1.3 million in labor costs. (Read more about the benefits of HoloLens 2.) Now, by upgrading to Windows 11, HoloLens 2 will continue to provide these tools and benefits while ensuring the most secure mixed reality environments for our industrial metaverse customers.

Upgrade HoloLens 2 to Windows 11 for free

Upon availability, customers can upgrade their device by navigating to Settings → Update & Security → Check for Updates. This will automatically trigger the system upgrade. This is an optional upgrade, and customers can continue using Windows 10 on HoloLens 2 if they prefer.

New features in Dynamics 365 Guides

Improved 3D annotations, security, Teams calls and more

Alongside the release of Windows 11 on HoloLens 2, Microsoft has rolled out exciting features for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Guides, which are now available. These recently released features improve the intuitive and collaborative abilities of Microsoft mixed reality. Arrows and lines superimposed over a photograph of a vehicle being manufactured

3D annotations

We’re releasing a groundbreaking improvement to Dynamics 365 Guides with a new annotation feature that allows users to annotate anything around them within arm’s reach, creating a seamless blend of physical and virtual content. 3D drawings don’t need to be attached to a machine or surface − users can apply them anywhere, granting more freedom when illustrating complex processes to frontline workers in the field. Additionally, any annotation that needs to be made on a complex surface within eyesight will have improved accuracy with this update.

Custom security

We’re also rolling out a custom security feature for Dynamics 365 Guides called “Restricted Mode,” which gives organizations more control over their mixed reality apps. This is a significant update for highly confidential facilities looking to enforce stricter access controls around systems and information deployed on HoloLens 2. Companies can better prevent unauthorized access to confidential information and highly sensitive data.

GxP industry guidance

For regulated industries that must comply with Good Practice (GxP) protocols to ensure products consistently meet the bar for quality, we’re introducing new industry guidance for Dynamics 365 Guides. In recent years, the Guides application has become an invaluable tool for manufacturers when it comes to training, upskilling and improving production processes. We continue building on this value by refining industrial use cases on Guides to further address compliance, quality control, risk management and documentation − all key elements a manufacturer needs to adhere to GxP protocols. Our new guidance, developed in partnership with NNIT in Denmark, is meant to help highly regulated industries take advantage of these MR capabilities while following best practices. Customers can expect to see this guidance published in H1 of this calendar year.

Microsoft Teams calls on HoloLens 2

Building on the integration of Microsoft Teams with Dynamics 365 Guides, we are continuously pushing new updates to Teams calls within Guides to enhance the experience. Our latest Guides update includes additional features like the ability to toggle video on or off before a call, in addition to improving the reliability and quality of call streaming.

Porsche revolutionizes automotive service experiences with HoloLens 2 and Dynamics 365 Guides

Our continued enhancements to HoloLens 2 and Dynamics 365 Mixed Reality apps help empower customers, like Porsche Cars North America, to revolutionize skilling, training and customer experiences. With a name that stands for innovation like few others in the automotive industry, Porsche Cars North America is driving its cloud transformation initiatives by embracing innovative technologies to enhance the efficiency and consistency of the company’s automotive services in the U.S. With HoloLens 2 and Dynamics 365 Guides, technicians at Porsche Cars North America dealerships can now view the world around them in 3D while connecting with a remote expert who can support highly technical service requests. This technology also allows Porsche dealership technicians to view 3D holograms of a car and participate in remote interactive training classes. Upskilling and retaining top talent is now more cost-efficient, and technical services take less time while still meeting the company’s high bar for quality and exceptional customer service. Two men wearing HoloLens devices as they look into the engine compartment of a car, along with elements showing what they see on their devices Man wearing a HoloLens deviceWe’re excited to roll out these new features to our mixed reality product portfolio. Edge features to help you stay organized and power your productivity

Life seems to be moving at a faster pace, with demands for our time growing and multitasking being the norm at home and at work. Here at Microsoft Edge, we understand the crucial role that a web browser plays in your online life, and we strive to build features that help you make the most of your time. Yesterday, we announced the limited public preview of Edge Workspaces, which allows you to browse the web in a shared space along with your friends and family to get more done, together. Today, we are excited to share more of what is new in Edge to help you stay organized and productive. First, Edge is now the first and only browser with an integrated AI image generator. We are also excited to share how you can use classic features like Collections and vertical tabs to help you multitask smarter online. And, of course, our brand-new features such as: Drop, edit image and efficiency mode – all focused on powering your productivity and focus. Remember, if you’re running a Windows PC, you already have Microsoft Edge installed, so check it out and see why Microsoft Edge is the browser that puts you first. For those who want to try Microsoft Edge and are on a macOS, mobile or Linux device, download it and let us know what you think![1] Here’s what’s new in web experiences this month:

The first and only browser with an integrated AI image generator

At Microsoft, we want to put exciting innovation right at your fingertips to power your productivity – and creativity. This is why we are excited to announce that Image Creator is now available on desktop for Edge users around the world. This feature will help you create images that don’t yet exist, powered by the very latest DALL∙E models from our partners at OpenAI, right from the Microsoft Edge sidebar. If you’ve ever found yourself in need of a very specific visual for a social post or even a PowerPoint, Image Creator can help you find exactly what you need. Without losing your flow, simply navigate to the sidebar on the right side of your browser, tap on the Image Creator icon, enter your prompt, and you will see four different image options to choose from. Once you select the one that fits your needs, you can download it and add to your document or upload it to social media. When using Image Creator in Microsoft Edge for the first time, you’ll need to enable it in the Edge sidebar by clicking the “+” icon and turning on the toggle key for Image Creator. https://youtu.be/yxEczioCqJk

Making it easier to share files and notes across devices

We’ve all been there: we go on vacation with our families, take a lot of photos, and vow to get them into a photo book so they don’t get lost in the shuffle. Even more complicated, all the photos typically are across various devices. And so, you begin emailing photos from your phone to yourself so you can then save them on your desktop device, before logging into your favorite photo gift shop to begin creating. With the new Drop in Microsoft Edge, we’re giving you one space to drop and access all the content you want to share with yourself, across any of your devices. With this feature you can not only share photos with yourself from one device to another, but you can also share other file types and even notes. Let’s say you’re at work thinking about what you’ll make for dinner later that day and you find a quick recipe your kids will enjoy. With Drop, you can copy the ingredients and recipe, and send it to yourself so you have it on your mobile for easy reference when you get to the grocery store. To use Drop on your desktop, simply click the Drop icon in the sidebar, then the + icon, or use drag-and-drop to add your content. To open Drop on your mobile, click the overflow menu (…) and select Drop from the menu. Drop is available on PC, Mac, iOS and Android – just make sure you’re signed into your Microsoft account in Edge. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGoj9x4DIxQ&feature=youtu.be

Edit and save web images right where you search for them

Speaking of making things easier and helping you stay in your flow, this month we’re also excited to introduce the ability to edit and save web images without additional tools or apps outside your Edge browser. Let’s say you’re working on a presentation and are creating the accompanying visuals. Now instead of having to download, save and edit in a separate app on your PC or macOS device, you can simply right click on the desired web image and, without leaving your browser window, crop, adjust lighting and color, and add filters. From there, you can save the edited image for later use. You can also start editing simply by hovering over an image and selecting edit image from the menu. This reduces the need to toggle from app to app. Edit image user interface

Efficiency mode update gives you even more battery life

To get everything done each day, we need a browser that can not only boost our productivity but also one that can keep up with our pace. This is why we are excited to announce new updates to efficiency mode that give you better battery performance and more control over how your device consumes power.  With our latest improvements, when your laptop detects that you are low on battery, efficiency mode kicks in, enabling power-saving features when you’re interacting and not interacting with the browser. This update also gives you more options for how you want to save battery life. Efficiency mode even helps you conserve power when you are plugged in. Using the balanced setting will help save energy while giving you a good browsing experience. For those that want to save as much energy as possible, you can enable the Maximum Savings setting; please note this may impact browser performance.

More Edge features to help you stay organized online

Lastly, let’s talk about how some of our classic features can also power your productivity and make it easier to stay organized. Because let’s face it, multitasking is unavoidable, and at Microsoft Edge we want to give you the tools to help make your day-to-day easier. Let’s start with one of my favorite features for staying organized online: Collections. When I tell my friends and family about Edge, that is usually the first feature I mention. It helps me visually organize all the information I find across the web for various aspects of my life. With Collections I can organize anything from web content to links, images and even notes. One of the ways I am using Collections is to plan our family’s upcoming summer road trip. I have a collection titled National Parks Adventure and, in it, I’m gathering all the information on things we want to do, travel tips, and I’m even saving notes with things to bring. And because we know not all online research happens on a PC, Collections also syncs across your signed-in devices, including your phone. So, if I happen to find a great hotel recommendation or place to eat while I’m on my mobile device, I can simply access my National Parks collection and add those – and it will all be saved across my devices. It will also come in handy during my trip since I won’t have my laptop with me. That’s not all. Tab management is also something I’m trying to master during my daily browsing sessions – especially during those times when we find ourselves with too many tabs open. A popular feature for tab management is vertical tabs. This feature allows you to browse more comfortably by moving your browser tabs to the left side of the screen. It also allows for easy scrolling through open tabs with a mouse as they expand, showing the title when you hover. Edge also helps you organize your tabs into groups. With tab groups, you can assign names to groups of tabs and even color code, so you can easily find what you’re looking for. Not only can you group and organize tabs in Edge, but you can also pin specific tabs you know you use frequently so next time you open your browser, that site/tab will be right there waiting, helping you check off your daily tasks more efficiently.   Thank you, as always, for reading. Please continue to send us your feedback as we work to create web experiences and tools to help you stay organized and make the most of your time online so you can do more of what you love. Dell updates Windows 11 portfolio with new PCs that embrace innovation and sustainability

In a world where work could mean polishing up presentations at airports and taking meetings at home, technology that can drive collaboration and productivity in a variety of environments is more important than ever. Dell’s new PCs include Windows 11, which introduced a major update at the end of February. One of the biggest additions is a typable Windows search box that brings the new AI-powered Bing front and center. The update also includes improved touch experiences, full screen widgets, quick access to the Windows 365 app and new AI features in Start. Additionally, Windows announced a new preview of Phone Link for iOS is available in their Insider Program. Dell introduced PCs across its commercial portfolio, including Latitude laptops and Precision mobile workstations to enable work from anywhere. Inspired by the design of Dell’s XPS line but built for business professionals, the new Latitude 9440 2-in-1 is clean, smooth and simplified with machined aluminum and graphite in color. Conference calls add a burden on your PC but they are here to stay, and to meet their demands, Dell has updated its thermal design to rear venting dual-fan systems for a cool and quiet experience. [caption id="attachment_178188" align="alignnone" width="1024"]Two laptops open and floating back to back Latitude 9440[/caption] New design choices aim to give the business user a comfortable all-day typing experience. The Latitude 9440’s keyboard includes wider keys with no gap (also known as zero-lattice), and increased angles between keys and curvature on each key for easy tactile separation. Dell’s new mini-LED backlit keyboard technology reduces backlit keyboard power usage by up to 75% and increases battery life by up to three hours. Images are also sharper and more immersive on the Latitude 9440, which fits a 14-inch display into a 13-inch chassis with a 16:10 aspect ratio and InfinityEdge QHD+. The new Latitude 7000 series with Windows 11 features Ultralights and aluminum options in a variety of sizes and form factors for the diverse needs of the mobile professional. It includes 16:10 aspect ratio and the same micro-LED battery saving keyboard as the 9440. Weighing under 2.5 pounds for the 13-inch version and slightly over that for the 14-inch version and made with magnesium, the devices are light yet extremely durable. Dell also added a 5MP camera and 5G for better collaboration. The new “river” color, a blue/gray blend, offers a premium and modern look. A principled approach to app pinning and app defaults in Windows

Today we’re reaffirming our long-standing approach to put people in control of their Windows PC experience and to empower developers to take advantage of our open platform. We want to ensure that people are in control of what gets pinned to their Desktop, their Start menu and their Taskbar as well as to be able to control their default applications such as their default browser through consistent, clear and trustworthy Windows provided system dialogs and settings. Third party applications running on Windows and Microsoft’s own apps and features will have access to methods for pinning to these key user experiences and access to directing users to change defaults. Apps may offer features to lead users to the appropriate dialog or setting, but users are ultimately in control through standardized and clear experiences to inform their decisions. Specifically, today we are committing that:
  1. We will ensure people who use Windows are in control of changes to their pins and their defaults.
  2. We will provide a common supported way for application developers to offer the ability to make their app the default or pin their app to the taskbar. This will provide users a consistent experience across all apps.
  3. Microsoft apps will use the same common supported methods for pinning and defaults.
Hand in hand with these commitments today we are announcing the following new Windows features that represent our officially supported methods for apps to engage with pinning and defaults:
  • For defaults, we will soon introduce a new Settings deep link URI for applications to take their users directly to the appropriate location in Settings for the user to change their defaults. This is an extension to our existing ms-settings: URI scheme. Learn more about ms-settings: URI schemes.
An example Settings page where the new deep link URI will land a user if called by an application such as the Microsoft Edge browserAn example Settings page where the new deep link URI will land a user if called by an application such as the Microsoft Edge browser.
  • For pinning, we will soon introduce a new publicly available API that will enable apps to pin either primary or secondary tiles to the Taskbar. This API will always invoke a trusted Windows user experience to clarify what is being requested to be pinned and to confirm that the user indeed wants to allow the pin to occur.
Conceptual UX for pinning confirmation when called by an application. (Not final Experience.)Conceptual UX for pinning confirmation when called by an application. (Not final Experience.) We will launch these new features first in a Windows Insider Dev Channel flight in the coming months. Learn more about our Windows Insider Program for Developers. As a platform we also believe that to deliver the trust, safety and security that customers look to Windows to provide, we have a responsibility to ensure user choices are respected. We have taken and will continue to take steps to mitigate unrequested modifications to a user’s choices and expect to do more later this year after application developers have had time to incorporate these new best practices. We also understand it is important that we lead by example with our own first party Microsoft products. Therefore, we are committing that Microsoft Edge will release an update that adopts the new Settings deep link URI for defaults and public pinning APIs as they become available. Ultimately, we believe that this principled approach will promote a more open Windows experience that better serves our users and application developers alike.

Introducing a big update to Windows 11 making the everyday easier including bringing the new AI-powered Bing to the taskbar

It’s an exciting time in technology, not just for our industry but for the world. The Windows PC has never been more relevant in our daily lives, and this is increasingly the case as we approach the next wave of computing led by the mass adoption of AI. Today’s major update to Windows 11, that I am pumped to introduce, meets this new age of AI and reinvents and improves the way people get things done on their PCs. Launched just over a year ago, Windows 11 gave the PC a modern refresh and all new experiences that enable each of us to connect, participate, and be seen and heard. Since the launch, Windows 11 users continue to be more engaged than Windows 10 users and our US consumer customer satisfaction is higher than any version of Windows ever. In the last three weeks, we also launched the new AI-powered Bing into preview for more than 1 million people in 169 countries, and expanded the new Bing to the Bing and Edge mobile apps as well as introduced it into Skype. It is a new era in Search, Chat and Creation and with the new Bing and Edge you now have your own copilot for the web. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jm3Y_UA2qUo Today, we take the next major step forward adding to the incredible breadth and ease of use of the Windows PC by implementing a typable Windows search box and the amazing capability of the new AI-powered Bing directly into the taskbar. Putting all your search needs for Windows in one easy to find location. Windows 11 Start screen with new Bing module displayed The search box is one of the most widely used features on Windows, with over half a billion users every month, and now with the typable Windows search box and the new AI-powered Bing front and center to this experience you will be empowered to find the answers you’re looking for, faster than ever before. We’ve been inspired by people’s stories of how they are using the new Bing. For example, a first-generation grad student from a developing country shared how the new Bing gives him access to information and resources that were previously inaccessible and difficult to find. Stories like these energize and inspire us. With the new Bing in the Windows taskbar, you will be more empowered to harness the world’s information. For me personally, this technology is having incredible impact on how my kids, and I communicate with my dad, their grandfather, in Greek. It’s important for us to stay connected to where we’re from, including speaking the language, and with the new Bing chat experience we can learn and practice writing and speaking in Greek with my dad. It’s inspiring and changing the way we communicate and connect in ways we never imagined. Soon hundreds of millions of Windows 11 users can get access to this incredible new technology to search, chat, answer questions and generate content from right on their Windows taskbar. If you’re in the Bing preview, all you’ll need to do is install today’s Windows 11 update to access the new search box. To join the new Bing preview sign up on the waitlist. We can’t wait to see how the new Bing in Windows inspires you.

Say it in a video: Dropbox Capture makes it easy to show rather than tell

How often do you share a screenshot to help others understand a problem or issue versus spelling it out in a lengthy email? If you’re like a lot of people, you may find sharing images an easier way of conveying a message and collaboratively finding solutions. With Dropbox Capture, an app available in the Microsoft Store to download onto Windows 10 and 11 PCs, you can record screenshots and videos, mark them up, and invite others to comment and markup through a shareable link that doesn’t require a sign-in. Users save time by consolidating feedback in one location. Aside from being a time saver, it’s also a tool that organizations can use as part of their onboarding or training, as a powerful way to show – rather than tell – answers to frequently asked questions or common processes. Designers, editors, project managers and many others can use Capture as a more visually friendly means of sharing progress, troubleshooting and discussing feedback. https://youtu.be/wsy0rD58iTc “This is a creative industry, so using Dropbox Capture gives us an opportunity to lay out our thought processes,” says Adam Nielson, creative director of branded content at Kaleidoscope Pictures, a film and television production company based in Utah. He and his team create content to attract, engage and retain audiences for clients. “The written word doesn't work for everybody and I’m no writer, so Capture helps me get information to my teammates quickly. Being able to show multiple apps and walk a team member through feedback that needs to be more than a comment, with visual and verbal cues to help round out messages, has been huge. And it also gives people time to react on their own schedule.” His team has been using Dropbox Capture for the past six months and finds it helpful for collaboration across time zones, as his crew works remotely all over the world. “I've tried a lot of different things. Dropbox has always just been the most seamless to use,” says Nielson, who also likes how people he sends files to don’t need to sign in to see them. “Capture has helped keep personality and clarity that we can lose in the feedback process.” [caption id="attachment_178122" align="alignnone" width="1024"]Screenshot of Dropbox Capture share by link Screenshot showing how Dropbox Capture shares links for collaboration.[/caption] He also feels Capture works well in terms of accessibility, in that users can personalize the kinds of messages they want to send, in the way that they communicate best. For Nielson, who grew up learning sign language with deaf siblings, it gives him another way to communicate in a visual language. The idea for Capture came through observing customer feedback on Twitter about storing screenshots in Dropbox, which led to a deeper dive into customers’ needs. That led to developing Capture to include storing and sharing screen, video and audio recordings. “Since day one, we wanted Capture to serve as an all-in-one visual communication tool and saw the huge potential for it to change the way people collaborate, especially remotely,” said Youcef Es-skouri, head of product management for Dropbox Capture. https://youtu.be/mSw7aUnphjs The initial concept for Capture came from Dropbox’s annual Hackathon in summer of 2020. After the idea was born, Es-skouri took the lead on the project, seeing it through from its initial announcement to wide availability last year. He and engineers on his team worked specifically with Windows because that’s where most of their customers work. “We all have PCs, we all try to use them as much as possible and we really try to put ourselves in the shoes of our customers,” he says. “We've always tried to be Windows first because we know that this is where our customers are. Windows is super critical for us and honestly it has been quite a smooth ride for us with all the documentation and libraries that are available.” Es-skouri also says the variety of devices in the Windows ecosystem is an advantage with Capture, which they’ve designed to work well with touchscreens/tablets and other inputs in addition to standard keyboards. [caption id="attachment_178123" align="alignnone" width="1024"]Screenshot of screen recording with video Screenshot of a screen recording with video in Dropbox Capture.[/caption] Es-skouri says that the inclusion of screen recordings came naturally as a behavior that aligns with the ubiquity of screenshots. And acknowledging that not everyone is comfortable being on-camera, Capture makes it easy to record voiceovers – a natural extension to how people have become used to recording voice memos on phone texts. That flexibility in composing content is one of many reasons managers like Tyler Carey have embraced Capture. The chief revenue officer for the employee-owned Westchester Publishing Services based in Connecticut has been working at the company for eight years. Once a publisher’s manuscript is ready for copy editing or typesetting, Westchester will pick it up in Microsoft Word and create files for both printers and digital editions using Adobe InDesign. They create over 10,000 publications every year. Carey oversees all sales and collaborates regularly with the company’s marketing team. Business partnerships also fall under his purview, as well as other revenue generating initiatives. His typical day includes working directly with key accounts, strategizing with Westchester’s sales team and forecasting revenue. “We've been expanding our team during the pandemic. We went from an already somewhat distributed workforce to a very distributed workforce where we now have people in several different time zones on different teams collaborating,” he says. “So using Dropbox Capture lets us do kind of the things you might want to normally accomplish in meeting: get people together, look at a project, share a screen and try to solve a problem or collaborate on something.” [caption id="attachment_178124" align="alignnone" width="1024"]Screenshot showing video trimming Screenshot in Dropbox Capture showing video trimming of a screen recording.[/caption] Training is another area where Capture is proving to be useful, as Westchester is testing its use with sales documentation, so new hires can view 60-second videos rather than having to wade through hundreds of pages. “We've already had some big wins, just making lives easier for the sales reps like that,” Carey says. “What's elegant about Dropbox Capture versus other tools is that it’s very lightweight. There's a lot less clicks and steps. When we had done training videos before, we would record them using an application, download them, trim out any errors and then we'd have to host them somewhere and send the link. Now it's all under one hood.” Find out more about Dropbox Capture and try it out by downloading it from the Microsoft Store.
